Annual Mayoral Address
Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci will deliver his Annual “State of the City” Mayoral Address at the Chamber’s January Membership Breakfast hosted by Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road) on Thursday, January 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Seating is limited to 150 and reservations are required.

Business After Hours
Kalamata Greek Cuisine (116 Schiller Street) and Merle Norman Cosmetics (251 North York Street) will co-host the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Business After Hours at Kalamata on Wednesday, January 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

City Centre Interim Exec
The Elmhurst City Centre (2 City Centre) Board of Directors appointed Carole Thorpe as Interim Executive Director at a special meeting on December 7.  Pat Zubak resigned as City Centre's first Executive Director after 10 years, effective December 10.

Internet Tax Ban Extension
Taking action supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Congress recently passed on four-year extension of the moratorium on internet taxes, although state and local government is allowed to pass new sales taxes that apply equally to both on-line transactions and traditional retailers.

Dr. John Jevitz, Owner of Jevitz Chiropractic Clinic (130 Palmer Drive, Suite 23) received the 2004 Illinois Athletic Trainers Association (IATA) Special Recognition Award at the IATA Symposium at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Hassett Moving & Storage (877 South Route 83) was named to the DiversityBusiness.com 5th Annual Div50 listing in the Small Business category, based on volume, consistency and quality of business opportunities granted to women and minority-owned companies.

The Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, with support from the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst (P.O. Box 729).
